Handan, Hebei (2025): 90 TPD Waste Tire Pyrolysis Project – Fueling Circular Economy in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region

2026-03-26 10 minutes

In 2025, Shangqiu Jinpeng Industrial Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Jinpeng") successfully commissioned a high-standard waste tire recycling project in Handan, Hebei Province – a pivotal industrial hub in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development zone. Equipped with 6 sets of batch-type pyrolysis equipment (15 tons per unit per day), the project achieves a total daily processing capacity of 90 tons, annually converting around 32,400 tons of waste tires into high-value renewable resources. This landmark initiative not only addresses Handan’s pressing waste tire disposal challenge amid its thriving automobile industry and renewable resource trading sector but also aligns with Hebei’s "Zero-Waste City" construction and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei ecological environment co-governance strategy, setting a model for sustainable waste management in North China’s industrial core.

As one of China’s largest waste tire distribution centers, Handan faces mounting pressure from waste tire accumulation driven by its robust automotive manufacturing, scrapped vehicle dismantling, and comprehensive renewable resource recycling industry. In 2024 alone, the city’s waste tire recycling volume reached 69,000 tons, with traditional disposal methods such as landfilling and illegal dumping posing severe threats to soil quality and ecological security while wasting valuable renewable resources. Jinpeng’s customized solution was selected for its exceptional environmental compliance, cost-efficiency, and seamless adaptability to regional industrial demands, perfectly matching the requirements of medium-to-large scale waste recycling projects in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei environmental governance framework.

Each of the 6 batch-type pyrolysis units adopts Jinpeng’s time-tested low-temperature micro-negative pressure technology, ensuring efficient and stable conversion with minimal environmental impact. The process skillfully transforms waste tires into four high-quality products with clear market channels:

- Pyrolysis Oil: A high-grade fuel with a calorific value of 9,200-9,500 kcal/kg and low sulfur content (≤0.5%), it is supplied to local steel mills and industrial boiler operators in Handan’s industrial clusters, serving as a green alternative to traditional fossil fuels and supporting the city’s industrial low-carbon transformation.

- Carbon Black: With ash content ≤8%, the product is refined into rubber-compatible and asphalt-modified grades, widely used in Handan’s rubber product manufacturing and highway construction projects – perfectly catering to the strong demand for cost-effective alternatives to virgin carbon black in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

- Steel Wire: Recovered with high purity and no impurities, it is supplied to local steel recycling enterprises and steel shot manufacturers, realizing full-cycle recycling of metal resources and aligning with the city’s circular economy development goals.

- Non-Condensable Gas(Syngas): After purification and desulfurization, the gas is recycled as fuel for the pyrolysis reactors, reducing external energy dependence by over 30% and forming an energy-efficient closed-loop system that supports Handan’s green energy transition.

The project delivers remarkable economic and environmental dividends. Environmentally, it reduces annual CO₂ emissions by approximately 88,000 tons compared to virgin resource production, eliminates waste tire landfill to conserve precious land resources, and contributes significantly to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei atmospheric pollution prevention efforts. Economically, it creates over 40 local jobs in operation, maintenance, and product distribution, while the high-value end products tap into the robust demand for recycled energy and materials in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei market, generating stable revenue for the client. As a key demonstration project for Handan’s "Zero-Waste City" construction, it vividly showcases how waste recycling can synergize ecological progress with high-quality economic development.

As a pioneer in global waste resource recycling equipment, Shangqiu Jinpeng Industrial Co., Ltd. boasts over 16 years of dedicated R&D and project implementation experience, specializing in crafting region-specific solutions that balance efficiency, compliance, and profitability.
